Evita Peron - autograph note

Note on the back of a school enrolment form (23cm x 15cm) entirely in the hand of Eva (Evita) Peron in blue pencil.

Translated reads: ' I want more musical groups to go for the children at the Workers Home'

The second wife of Argentine President Juan Peron and First Lady of Argentina from 1946 until her early death from cancer, aged 33, in 1952.

A radio and screen actress before her marriage in 1945, she became a powerful political influence and worked tirelessly on bettering the lives of women and also the poor. She was idolized by the people and on her death was given a state funeral, normally only reserved for heads of state.

In 1978, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber based the popular musical 'Evita' on the life of Eva Peron.
