This unique piece of history is very special as it contains the autographs of iconic Antarctic explorers Sir Ernest Shackleton, Frank Worsley and Joseph Stenhouse.
Produced by the French medalist Lucien Lafaye for the 'Collection generale de la Monnaie' and the city of Menton in France to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Katherine Mansfield's death and 80 years since her birth.

Close of Letter signed in blue ink 'sincerely Montgomery of Alamein' on pale blue paper measuring 115mm x 42mm. beautifully framed with colour photo portrait of Monty wearing his military uniform. Framed with 'Shinkolite' which cuts out 99% of UV light to ensure fading does not occur.

Brief typed aerogram letter signed by assassinated Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi dated September 21, 1979 to a Miss M A Hone thanking her for her card of good wishes. Some creasing and small 2cm x 1cm piece missing from bottom right of letter. Strong blue ink signature.
