Brief typed aerogram letter signed by assassinated Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi dated September 21, 1979 to a Miss M A Hone thanking her for her card of good wishes. Some creasing and small 2cm x 1cm piece missing from bottom right of letter. Strong blue ink signature.

Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) Indian stateswoman and prime minister (1966-77, 1980-84). Daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru. She was assassinated at her home in New Delhi  by Sikh extremist members of her bodyguard in 1984.
