Balmoral Castle 'Record of Stags Shot' 3 September 1945

Headed up 'His Majesty the King and Party' this record shows the variety and number of wildlife killed during a shoot at Balmoral on 3 September, 1945. Showing 19 different varieties of birds and animals killed together with the number killed including a 16 stone 12oz - 6 pointer stag, 

Wildlife includes grouse, partridges, pigeons, pheasant,duck,woodcock, snipe, sparrowhawk, heron, brown hare, rabbits, salmon, brown trout and a stag.

This is a unique record of a long standing royal tradition of a 'shoot'.
